Bill Twomey & Morgan Powell

The Huntington Free Library, in partnership with the East Bronx History Forum is pleased to announce that 2 scholarships are being offered:

The Bill Twomey Scholastic Award will be awarded to a high school SENIOR, residing in the Bronx. The award amount is $250. Applicants will write a report showing an understanding and appreciation for the history of the Bronx. The paper must be between 1,000 and 2,000 words and may contain photographic images. Bibliography and footnotes must be included.

The Kristopher “Morgan” Powell Photographic Art Award will be awarded to 2 high school STUDENTS, residing in the Bronx. The award amounts are $100 and $50. Applicants will submit an original photograph, which must be a Bronx image. Subjects depicting African-Americans, Art, History or the diverse beauty of the Bronx is of special interest to the judges.

Both scholarships will be judged by a  Panel of Huntington Free Library & East Bronx History Forum officers.
